AD : Active Duty 현역
ACS: Army Community Service
AFTB: Army Family Team Building 미군과 미군 가족이 미군 생활에 적응할 수 있도록 도와주는 교육 프로그램

BAH : Basic Allowance for Housing 주거비이며 배럭스 같은 government quarters이 주어지지 않았거나 배우자가 있을 때 받을 수 있음.

2021 Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) Rates

BT or BCT: Basic (Combat) Training

CO : Commanding Officer of a unit 부대 지휘관
COLA : Cost of Living Allowance 물가가 높은 나라로 발령나면 주어지는 추가적으로 나오는 돈. 참고로 non-taxable allowance임.
COMMISSARY: Grocery store for military
CONUS : The Continental United States 미국 본토(알래스카와 하와이를 제외한 48개 주)

DEERS : Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System 미군 가족으로 등록하는 시스템
DoD : Department of Defense 미국 국방부

GI Bill : 교육이나 훈련과 관련된 비용을 지원해 주는 것.
배우자에게 transfer가능하지만 조건이 있음.

JAG : Judge Advocate General 법적인 문제를 도와줌.

MHA : Monthly Housing Allowance 배우자가 있는 E-5에게 BAH와 같은 것.
MOS : Military Occupational Specialty 군사 특기
MWR: Morale, Welfare and Recreation

NCO : Non-Commissioned Officer 하사관

OHA: Overseas Housing Allowance
※ BAH와 OHA의 차이점 :
OHA, for the most part, is a dollar-for-dollar reimbursement for actual housing costs up to a predetermined maximum amount. BAH, on the other hand, is a fixed payment to servicemembers.

ONCONUS : Outside the Continental United States 미국 본토 외

PoA : Power of Attorney 미군이 배우자에게 법적 권한을 위임하는 것.
PT: Physical Training

SSN : Social Security Number 사회보장번호. 한국의 주민번호와 비슷한 개념으로 한 번 발급받으면 평생 쓸 수 있음.

TDY : Temporary Duty 출장
TEAMS : Transition Employment Assistance for Military Spouses
TLA : Temporary Lodging Allowance
