2017. 08. 21. 미국으로 출발(Departing for the US)

대학교 3학년, 꿈에 그리고 그리던 교환학생에 합격하여 드디어 미국으로 떠나게 되었다.

On Junior year of my undergraduate, I achieved my dream of studying abroad which I was really looking forward to and left for the United States.

 

가을학기가 시작하기 일주일 전, 뉴욕에 도착을 했고 우여곡절 끝에 기숙사에 입사했다.

A week before Fall semester starts, I arrived New York and moved into a college dorm after going through many obsticles.

 

JFK 공항에 도착했을 때, 한국에서부터 타고온 중국항공사에서 내 짐을 잃어버렸다는 사실을 깨달았고,

배정받은 기숙사에 짐을 둔 채로 방문이 잠겨버렸는데 도움을 요청하기에는 내 영어실력이 한참 부족했다.

Upon arriving at JFK airport, I realized that the Chinese airline I have taken from Korea lost my luggage.

Besides, I was locked out of my room with my phone and money inside. But It was hard for me to ask for help because I was not very good at English yet.

 

시작부터 심상치 않은 교환학생 생활이었다.

It seemed not easy from the start of the exchange student's life.
